Snorkeling

Wow!!! As I got on the boat, I could see the beautiful fish in the glistening water and all the big boats in a row with the sun shining on them. As I sat on the boat, I smelled the salty water of the ocean. The seat was hot and burned my legs, making them feel as if they were a sizzling piece of bacon cooking to a crisp. When I got my snorkeling gear, I put my flippers on. I could hear the flip flopping of the my flippers on the wet slick floor of the boat. Then I put on my itchy faded pink life vest.

Splash, Splash, Splash! The boat started to move as the waves crashed against the boat.  As we were approaching the snorkeling spot, I smelled the strong smell of the sunscreen and the cool spray as it hit my arm.

It was my turn to get off the boat, and I stood up I felt a feeling of excitement as I waited in line to go in. When it was my turn to go in, I stepped on the first cold metal stair. “Here goes nothing,” I thought as I jumped in the cool water. I could hear the whining of the girl behind me not wanting to go in. Taking a deep breath,  as I went under, the cool water hit my head. I could see the colorful fish gliding at my feet, the camouflaged lobsters below me, and the prickly squirmy starfish in my hand. WOW!!! Out of nowhere a giant stingray under my feet was buried in the sand.

This was a great experience. I will never forget the time I went snorkeling in the Caribbean Islands.
