D.A.R.E Essay

Did you know people who smoke or use tobacco get a lot of cold and respiratory problems? When I hear this, it makes me never want to smoke or take any type of drugs. D.A.R.E helps teach us not to go down the wrong path and not to waste our life, especially with drug use, stress, and yelling at others. These things affect your personality, life, and the people you love. These are some things that I think people should fix more often.

First of all,  D.A.R.E has taught me that drugs are bad for you no matter what you do with them. Over 400,000 people die from drug use each year. One reason drugs have become such a problem is their addictive nature. Cigarettes have a drug in them called nicotine which is very addicting. Once you put a cigarette in your mouth, there is no going back. Also, you get horrible side effects and behavior. You get a very aggressive behavior that is not good for your family. Finally, some of the side effects are teeth rot, bumpy skin, bags under your eyes, and lots of bruises. Drugs are a horrible thing to use I pledge that I will never use them.

Second of all, the D.A.R.E. program has taught me about how to deal with stress. Everyone has stress. It’s natural for the human body to react that way, but people sometimes do it uncontrollably. Stress doesn’t help anybody. It just puts more pressure on you or your friends. Don’t stress over anything silly like a test. When you have a test, take your time. Don’t rush through it and get all the questions wrong. Take your time. Also, don’t stress over sports! I know sports can stress a lot of people out, including me. You’re afraid of getting hurt or doing bad, but don’t worry how you do. Just have fun. You be you and don’t change it for the world.

Third of all, D.A.R.E. has taught me not to yell at others. When you yell at others, it can cause a poor relationship with that person. They will not trust you a much as they did before. I don’t want that to happen to my friends and family. To prevent this from happening, you should take out your anger on a pillow or do a hobby that makes you calm. Some of the things that help me are drawing, reading, or writing.

In all, D.A.R.E. taught me not to take drugs, be stressed, and yelling at others.  D.A.R.E is a wonderful class to take. You should enroll your kids in it. Thank you to Officer Whitt for teaching our class how to have a successful life of being drug free. He has helped us so much with saving our lives. I will never take drugs for as long as I live. This class was a big honor to be apart of. Thank you St. Anne’s for enrolling our class in it. I will never take drugs for as long as I live.
