Have you ever watched the movie and read the book “Holes?”  Have you spotted the differences? Some of the major differences are Stanley's appearance,how Sam died,and when it rained.  

Stanley's appearance was very different in the movie than it was in the book.  In the movie he was skinny. In the book it said he was overweight. I like the book better in this scene because it is a important part. It is a important part because without his weight he would not be bullied and would not have gone to camp Green lake. He also would not meet zero and his curse would not have been broken.  I think the creators of the movie wanted Stanley to be more likable.

      Another thing that was different was how Sam died.  In the book he was shot in a boat with miss Katherine Barlow in boat.  In the movie he was killed in a boat and miss Katherine Barlow near the lake.I liked the movie scene better because it was more dramatic.  I think creatures made it that way because it was more dramatic and has a better story line. With more drama it appeals to more people.

     One big event was the rain.  In the book the rain started when Stanley and zero got into the car and it was only one drop.  In the movie it started raining when they about to leave and when the warden, Mr Sir , Mr Pendanski were getting arrested and it did not rain a little it down poured .  I liked the movie more because it was more happy this way and more interesting. I think the creators made this change to spice up the movie.

There are a lot of changes in the book and movie.  Some changes are how Sam died ,when the rain happened,and Stanley's looks.in my opinion I liked the movie better because it was more dramatic.
