                                               Gymnastics

I threw on my leotard and headed straight down stairs to go to the gymnasium. It was time to practice for ranking myself up to the next level in gymnastics. When I got there, I stepped forward, my bare sweaty feet gliding across the floor. My Coach turned on some comfortable stretching music. As I listened to the soothing music, I could feel my muscles pulling and trying so hard for me to stretch. After I was done stretching, I warmed up with some of the skills I had already accomplished. I sometimes even tried to master the skills I was working on now.

I felt my body telling me what to do. I heard my heart pounding and gradually getting slower as I drank from the water fountain and the water splashed into my mouth. I smelled the rough, hard chalk going onto gymnast’s hands when they were jumping onto other bars with their hands and feet moving from spot to spot across the bars. I saw the parents watching from the large crowd while the gymnast’s were performing their dances across the whole room while jumping, twisting, and turning their bodies.

As I watched the pre-teens performing on floor, I felt my heart wanting to get out there. I always keep on trying and briefly getting there step by step. I can always learn that gymnastics, dancing, or any sport is never about what abilities you have and that others don't. It is all about you being happy about your own ability you already have or what you have accomplished.
