                                                                   D.A.R.E. Essay

D.A.R.E. stands for for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. It is an educational  program that is designed to provide a world where students respect others and do not choose violence, substance abuse, and other self-destructive behaviors. D.A.R.E. is about being respectful and kind to one another. What I learned from D.A.R.E. is to never drink alcohol, not to do drugs, and to be kind to others.

First of all, you should never drink alcohol unless you are over the age of twenty-one. Alcohol is very dangerous because it can affect the body in many different ways. If you ever drink too much alcohol, you can get dizzy, loose your balance, or it can mess with your judgement. You could also die from too much alcohol. This is why you should never drink too much alcohol, especially if you are under the age of twenty-one.

Also, you should never use drugs. Drugs are very harmful to your body. Drugs can make your teeth rotten, cause brain damage, and stop your heart from beating. Your lungs can get weaker and weaker so you can possibly stop breathing. If you ever breath in drugs, your lungs, heart, and brain are quickly affected. You should remember to never use drugs.

Another thing is, be kind to others. Being mean has to do with being disrespectful, rude, and bullying.           One of the most common moments about being mean is hurting other people’s feelings. If you are very mad at someone, it can be very easy to hurt a person’s feelings. Everyone in the world has at least hurt a person’s feelings once. The best thing to do before saying something hurtful to that person is to take some deep breaths and maybe walk away to forget about the situation. You can always talk to your parent or guidance teacher about the situation. It’s normal to hurt a person’s feelings but it is not right. Afterwards, you should always go back to that person and apologize for being rude or disrespectful. It’s always nice to forgive that person after apologizing so you can be friends again.

The D.A.R.E. program has taught us never to do harmful things that will affect your body. You should always be safe and responsible. You should be with a trusted adult if you are ever in a bad situation. It is better to always be with someone that you trust and is responsible. I pledge to never try drugs or anything bad that will affect me or my family.
