Why Families Should Eat Together

Most families don’t eat together, however scientist are testing the benefits of eating together. Firstly, eating together is one of the only times families get together. Secondly, home cooked meals are better for your health. Lastly, it’s a good time to discuss things. I think all families should eat together, but they very rarely do.

To begin with, most families can’t always get together because they are too busy with other things, but meals can give time for your family to be together. Scientific studies show that eating together gives a sense of belonging and gives time to bond with family. Also, scientific studies show that kids and teens like to eat together as it gives time for conversation and fun memories. As everyone knows or should know, family won’t be there forever; therefore, you should spend a lot of time with your family. If you don't spend time with them them you should start with talking at the table. In conclusion, if your family is busy then try talking at the table. Spark some conversation!

Secondly, most meals made at home have fruit, veggies, and are all around healthier for you. Did you know that home cooked meals lead to better food choices? If you don’t eat home cooked meals then you most likely eat fast food a lot more than necessary. Even though fast food tastes good, it is very bad for you. Did you also know that people consume more fruits and veggies when meals are cooked from home? In conclusion, don’t miss the things you need from your meals. Make good choices and eat home cooked.

Finally, eating together gives time to discuss things in life. If your having a bad day, discuss it with your family. See what kind of day they're having and maybe your not the only one having a bad day. Did you know that seventy one percent of teens like discussions at dinner more than any other time. If you don’t talk and discuss, then get out of your comfort zone and talk a little. Talk about the things you didn’t want to discuss earlier in the day. If you do, you will feel like you belong. Also, if you practice talking with your family, you won’t feel uncomfortable when you talk to others. Remember, don't keep your bad day to yourself get out of your comfort zone. You need to talk!

In conclusion, families getting together, improved health, and time for discussion are all reasons why you should eat with your family. Family meals are more balanced and prevent families from drifting apart. In my opinion, You should eat with your family. If you don’t already you should start. It will be better for you.
