HOLES ESSAY

Have you ever read Holes, or watched the movie? Did you notice the changes? Well I think the most noticed changes are when it started raining, Stanley's  appearance, and where Miss Katherine was when Sam died.

One major change was when it started raining. In the book, it started raining when they got in the car. In the movie, it started raining when they were about to leave the camp but instead they started playing in the rain. I like the movie better, because it was hilarious to see all the campers run out into the rain. I am pretty sure they did this just to make it more funny.

The second change I noticed was Stanley's appearance. In the book, he was supposed to be a big overweight guy. Instead in the movie, he was a skinny weak dude. I like the movie version better, because he looked like a good person. I think this change was made because of all the stunts he had to do and because no one wants to watch a fat guy.

The third change I noticed was Miss Katherine wasn't in the boat with Sam. In the book, he was leaving and Miss Katherine jumped in the boat with him. In the movie, she was running to catch up with Sam but he was shot and killed. I like the book version better because it tells everything that happens. I think this change was made for the dramatic affect.

In conclusion I think these few are the most noticed changes. Where Miss Katherine was, Stanley’s appearance, and the rain are all changes that caught my eye. Overall I liked the book version better because it gives more details and back stories and it is just wonderful.
