 Conner                                                                Saint Speech

Hello, my name is St. John the Baptist. I was born in the first century in Palestine. The church celebrates my birth on June 24th. During my early life, I went out in the wilderness to prepare for my mission of following Jesus. I followed Jesus by baptizing people in the Jordan River. One time Jesus came and I baptized him with the crowd. When I poured the water over Jesus as a sign of penance, the Holy Spirit appeared in the shape of a dove, and the heavenly father said, “This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased.” I died in the year 27 AD. I was imprisoned that year and was beheaded by King Herod who granted the wish to his daughter of imprisoning me. I became a saint so long ago that no one remembers. My feast day is celebrated on June 24th. I am the patron saint of baptism and builders.
