Did you know that there is a place where you can stand in four states at one time? The Four States meet at a place called Four Corners, at the edge of Arizona. Covered in hot deserts and snowy mountaintops, Arizona is land filled with variety. Arizona is a great place to live if you like hot climate or the states mountains.

Basic Facts

​The climate can range from being desert, cool, wet mountains, and semi-arid. The average high temperature can be 65.0°F & the average low temperature can be 43.4°F. The highest temperature ever recorded in Arizona was 128°F or (53°C) at lake Havasu. The lowest temperature ever recorded in Arizona was -40°F (40°C) at Hawley lake. The precipitation in Arizona comes in the form of a rainfall, averaging 8 in. a year. Arizona's climate can be hot, have common heavy thunderstorms, and have high winds that blow rain & dust away. As the air in Arizona warms, the states climate can carry more moisture, and at night the temperature in Arizona can drop below freezing.    

Arizona is one of the fifty States in United States of America. Located in the western region of the United States, Arizona borders New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and California. The state covers 113,999 miles squared or (295,255 km²), ranking it the 6th biggest state.

Colorado Plateau

The Colorado Plateau has huge uplifted land that extends across the four corners region of the northeastern part of Arizona into Utah, Colorado, and northwestern New Mexico. After millions of years, rivers have carved into the Colorado Plateau forming gorges, ravines, and canyons such as the Grand Canyon. . 

Basin & Range

The Basin & Range region is made up of small mountain ranges. These are the Chiricahuas, Huachucas, and Dragoons which rise in the middle of the Arizona desert. The ranges were formed by earthquakes which caused areas near the faults to fold and tilt the crust. Two-thirds of the Chihuahuan desert is in Mexico, but some parts are found to reach into southeastern Arizona.    

Transition Zone

The Transition Zone has four mountain ranges: the Mazatzal, Santa Maria, Sierra Ancha, and white mountain ranges, these ranges are close together in an area that has rugged peaks and narrow valleys. The Transition Zone is in the south of the Colorado Plateau.

Conclusion

The state of Arizona is an amazing place to visit if one is interested in the States hot climate or its mountains. Arizona’s environment is very unique to anyone who has seen or been at Arizona, and we can all agree that the Grand Canyon is a magnificent sight to see. Perhaps Theodore Roosevelt expressed the nature of Arizona the best when he said, “in the Grand Canyon, Arizona has a natural wonder which is in kind absolutely unparalleled throughout the rest of the world.”
