                                    Comanche Native American Report

The Comanche tribe migrated to many places. Before the 1800s the Comanche tribe started to live in the state of what is now                Wyoming. The Comanche migrated to “kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma.” Because of the comanche living in the certain states, the comanche territory was very deserted. Overall  Because of the land being deserted, there was limited amount of water sources. A water source near the comanche tribe was a river known as “The red river.” the Red river as we know of now is located in the state of “Texas.” In the end the comanche tribe migrated to places such as “Wyoming, kansas etc.” Overall, the land of the Comanche tribe was very harsh environment.

The comanche tribe had many ways they met their basic needs. The teepees were made of cedar, pine, etc. The comanche dug a fire pit inside there teepee to keep warm. Because of the fire pit, they usually left a hole in the top of the teepee, so that the smoke would   not flood the teepee. In conclusion, most of the comanche usually lived in teepees. The comanche ate food such as, roots, berries, acorns, and wild onions. In addition they also ate, black bear, pronghorn, deer, elk, and bison. The comanche usually wore moccasins,   and leggings made of breechcloth. During the winter the comanche would traditionally wear a headdress.  the comanche wore different types of clothes. Overall the comanche built useful homes, liked different types of foods, and had many types of clothes.

The comanche tribe had lots of different beliefs, and customs than we have today. At the age of 15 a comanche boy would go on a vision quest. A vision quest is a quest to become a warrior. During this time they would eat nothing until they saw a vision that would   show them their powers. A comanche boy after the vision quest would learn a certain skill based off what they saw. They would be trained as an apprentice to an adult man. To become a warrior of the Comanche tribe, you would have to participate in many wars.             Traditionally the comanche men and women would decorate their bodies. The earrings that the comanche wore were made of pure silver. They also wore necklaces and bracelets. Etc. In the end, the Comanches beliefs and customs were much different than they are today.

In conclusion, the comanche tribe is very fascinating tribe in my opinion, i would like to hear what you think of them. Present-day comanche reservation currently lives in the state of oklahoma.
