My Own Thanksgiving

       Do you like playing games and stuff with your family, on Thanksgiving? If so, what games do you play? Thanksgiving is pretty fun with my family. Some of the things my family does on Thanksgiving is have fun with family, have fun with cousins, and  eat food.

       First, I have a lot of fun with my family. We pack for the trip on Thanksgiving because we go to Cookeville so we pack for a two day trip. This year we’re going to my cousins’ new house. It's almost all white so I’ll try not to get it dirty. Well, before we leave, I say goodbye to all my pets: my cats Nutmeg, Rhett, and Samantha Grace and then my dog Jack. Then we hop in the car and leave. Once everyone gets to my cousins’ house the adults start cooking. The people who usually cook are my uncle Dareil, my aunt Amy, my Mimi, my mom, and Katelin, she's my cousin’s wife. Cacy wants to help, but she's only 2 so she can’t help. Cacy is one of my cousins. I have 8 cousins we have at our Thanksgiving. I have more but we don't spend our Thanksgiving with them.  We all play well together and that's all of family.    

       Second of all, while the adults are making the turkey and all the other food, my cousins and I play games. One of the games we play is one we made up. It’s called hidden shopkin robots. We usually only play that like 11 times for everyone to have a turn to count. Some other games we do is we’ll play Monopoly and whoever wins gets one of my aunt Amy’s peanut butter balls. We also make scavenger hunts for each other.  Another thing we do is my aunt Amy’s crafts. We make Thanksgiving birdhouses, stuffed animal turkeys, and Thanksgiving lanyards. We also just all play together, except for my cousin, he just plays on his phone the whole time. That’s all the fun things we do together on Thanksgiving. 

       Finally, when all the food is ready we eat. I always ask my mom if I can have dessert first because it's the best part. But she always says no. My favorite food out of all the Thanksgiving food, is the sweet potato casserole. I like it because it’s sweet and has marshmallows in it. Some of the meats we have is the turkey and ham. Those are the only meats we usually have. Some of the sides are cole slaw, hard boiled eggs, deviled eggs, peas, corn, mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, and sweet potato casserole. And once all the adults are finished eating we eat dessert. Some of the desserts are pumpkin pie, apple pie, cherry pie, blackberry cobbler, raspberry cobbler, and peanut butter balls. That's all the food we have on Thanksgiving.

      Some of the things we do on Thanksgiving is have fun with family, have fun with cousins, and eat food. I really love Thanksgiving because of all these fun things we get to do together. I can’t wait until we get to see our cousins on Thanksgiving!
