Holes Differents

As you see the yellow bus coming throw the dry wasteland, you hope your time at Camp Green Lake has finally ended. This is how the campers in the book and movie Holes most have felt when the saw the yellow bus coming.with Stanley in it. However, not all things are the same in the movie as they are in the book.  Some major differences between the movie and the book Holes are Stanley's appearance, Sam’s kiss with Kate, and Kissing Kate barlow's death.

One difference between the book and the movie Holes is Stanley’s  appearance. In the book, Stanley is overweight. He also gets bullied in the book because he is overweight.  In the movie, he is skinny. It never says he gets bullied in the movie. I think they made this changed because no one would what to see a movie with an overweight person as the main character. I also think they made this change because it would be easier to find a skinny actor then an overweignt one. I liked the book better because it gave more detail about him.

Another difference between the book and the movie Holes is when Sam kissed Kate. In the book, Sam kissed Kate when they were outside. Hatty Parker saw them and said God will punish you. In the movie, Sam kissed Kate when they were inside. Trout saw them kissing through the window. I think they changed it because it would be easier for the actors to just stay inside instead of Kate having to run outside. I also think they changed it because it would save time. I liked the book better because I felt like it was more dramatic.

The last difference between the book and the movie Holes is Kissin Kate Barlow's death. In the book, Trout forced her to walk on the hot ground while she was tied up.Then a yellow spotted lizard came up and bit her ankle. In the movie,  she was sitting next to the Mary Lou bout. Then Trout came and a yellow spotted lizard came out of the boat and she picked it up and put it on her wrist  and then it bit her. I think they changed it because it would be more dramatic. I also think they changed it because of time. I liked the movie better because it was more dramatic and it touched Trout more.

Some changes  between the book and movie Holes are Stanley’ s appearance, Sam’s kiss with Kate, and Kissing Kate Barlow’s death. With all these differences between the book and the movie Holes, one might be confused on which is better.I say both because they both felt like great experiences. Overall, I would recommend both the movie and the book Holes.
